BeYou@School

Empowerment Program

Our unique and interactive BeYou@School - Empowerment Program provides a powerful journey of learning and understanding, designed to support young people as they navigate through the amazing, complicated, wonderful and challenging teen and pre-teen years. The program focuses on developing vital self-awareness, communication, leadership and resilience skills, empowering young people to move forward in life with confidence, consciousness and compassion.

The program has been developed in conjunction with Educators and Child & Adolescent Mental Health professionals to ensure the highest standards of learning in a safe and supported environment.

Be You Programs and the Australian Curriculum

The programs have been developed in line with the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) and the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) curriculum and syllabus guidelines.

‘Be You’ meets required learning outcomes within the NSW PDHPE Syllabus for Stage 4 students.

Our main point of difference? HORSES as teachers! What can a horse teach that a human can’t?

· Horses model empathy, kindness and acceptance - they lead with confidence not force.

· Horses do not judge us for the outside - they respond to what matters most, how we make them feel on the inside.

· Horses feedback is an honest and instant - they do not lie or hold a grudge.

· With their astute instincts and senses - they are experts at body language.

How do our programs work for schools?

Our programs provide an innovative approach to skill development, taking the lessons learned in the arena with our horses and bringing these to the classroom or home. Further, developing emotional intelligence, self-confidence and self-awareness lays the foundation for students to find their true ‘inner-leader’.

Flexible delivery options allow the BeYou@School program to be taught by teachers either in class or via video conference (e.g. Zoom) with the option of online student access to all content and materials (BeYou@Home).

Each lesson can also be paired with a 90-minute in-person session with horses, via a global network of trained facilitators.

BeYou@School Structure

This unique program has been designed to complement school’s PDHPE, Wellbeing, Peer Group or Pastoral Care programs. The 6 – 12 week program includes detailed lesson plans, content videos and interactive learning tools in a complete, ready-to-go package for Educators.
